The story on the Life of Christ starts on the triumphal arch with The Annunciation split into two panels: Gabriel on the left side and Mary to the right of the arch. On the right-hand side of the arch, in the Visitation, Mary and Elizabeth clasp hands and gaze into each other’s eyes, imbuing the scene with dignity and quiet joy.
